Slingshot riders bursting into the kitesurfing spotlight - Patrick Rebstock and Mauricio Abreu. Whilst many are familiar with Mauricio from his wake style days, Mr Rebstock hasn't been the show pony we all expect from the kite surfers of today. 

Patrick Rebstock, born in Santa Barbara, California and formerly of Underground kiteboards fame, is now one of the hottest young surfers in the world. He's been described as:
"Part of the new breed of core kitesurfers from California and one of the main riders pushing the limits in strapless riding" and is widely known for throwing the biggest strapless airs out of anyone. Now, not only is he showing off what the Slingshot equipment can do in the waves, but he's designing his own signature boards for the 2013 product line. 

Back home in California, Rebstock has always been involved in the shaping of his own surfboards. Growing up in the surfing capitol of the USA, a good board was crucial to getting the competitive edge over his mates. This desire to have a great board under his feet carried over to kitesurfing, and after riding the current model Slingshot surfboards for a while, Patrick think's that he's got something to add to the lineup. We should see the boards pop up in the 2013 product line for Slingshot, and now that the US based company haven't had a 'pro' to make a 'pro model' for in two years, we can be sure the new board will have his name stamped all over it.
