One of Slingshots headline acts - Mauricio Abreu is doing a whirlwind tour of the east coast in February to show off the new Slingshot products, and to meet his adoring fans....

Better know for his Liquid Force days - where he either rode with no straps on a wake skate or full on bindings on a wakeboard; Mauricio has always been at the forefront of whatever discipline he has in his sights at the time. The tight knit nature of what could be called a niche discipline (bindings and wakeskates) has heavily influenced the way he rides and interacts with other kite boarders - in fact Mauricio still spends a bit of time in the wake style forum called Kitescoop, which is rare for a professional kiteboarder these days. 

Since moving to Slingshot kiteboarding last year he's been focussing on the surfing side of the sport, some even say he's out there to replace Ben Wilson as the front man of the Slingshot surfing team. He's doing a pretty good job of it too - with magazine covers and advertisements all over the internet, it can definitely be said that Mauricio is back in the spotlight once again. 

This isn't the first time Mauricio's been to Australia; a couple of years ago he came along to one of the Mambo competitions in Merimbula, NSW and caused quite a stir while he was there. This time around the aim is to meet a few of the locals, show off some gear and of course have a little ride when the conditions turn on. 

The official plan could vary depending on conditions, but below is the plan so far. There's several BBQ's and 'meet & greet' nights planned so make sure you call ahead and let the venue know you're planning on coming along!
