One week to Kitestock 2009
Just one week to go!
Countdown time is upon us and we are fast running out of places. If you have friends who have not registered yet you best get onto them. Once the spaces are filled there is nothing more we can do. There will be one more mailout before the event with reminders of what to bring (besides your plates & cutlery) but apart from that this is it.
DON"T MISS OUT ON THE ACTION
There are still a lot of registered kitestockers who have not gone back to complete the contact detail section of their registration. Sorry to do this to you but it is a necessary part of you entry AND you will miss out on a significant prize winning opportunity if your mobile phone no. is not recorded against your name. Please log onto the Kitestock website and go to www.waksa.com/kitestock/registration/ to fill them in.
The EVENTS PROGRAM
The program is being continually developed as the event evolves with more and more info coming in from sponsors about features they have planned and give-aways they are making available. At this point in time we will have no less than 6 kites going home with new owners after the fun and games of Kitestock 09 is over. An amazing and very generous commitment from those worthy of our return support. With all of these & more major prizes; along with all of the other donated booty; we are having great trouble finding ways of giving it all away (problems problems). We are still very open to ideas for fun comps, on & off the water, that can make Kitestock a better event for YOU. It all helps to give us some room to move with passing out all of the goodies. Please keep the ideas rolling in - email to kitestock@waksa.org.au
PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES
We don"t want to let too many cats out of the bag too soon but a little hint to those kiters who are hopeful of increasing the size of their kite quiver in the near future would be to think carefully about what might be a hit in the "pink" theme costume department. If pink isn't your thing then fancy dress in other, lesser, colours will also be considered, but not as highly.
There may also be significant prizes for pink themes spotted off the water ie non kiters on the beach & for everyone at the night time entertainment. And while you are planning your costume/s you should keep your eye on www.waksa.com/kitestock/programme for the latest updates as we continue to add in events and features to the kitestock 09 programme.
The LOGO DUDE
Another, lesser prize comp which may warrant a bit of pre-thought is our plan to run a "Name the Logo Dude" competition. In the booty bag you get when signing on at the SLSC will be an entry form asking you to come up with a name for the stylishly powered up raley dude we have dropped into the kitestock09 logo. Some inventiveness is called for!
PLATES ARE COMPULSORY
Well they are "all but" compulsory. In the interests of all things green & wholesome we are strongly encouraging everyone to bring along plates, mugs & cutlery to all of the beach catered meals. We will have disposables on hand but you will pay for the privilege. $1 per item for anything you may require from the greasy plastic disposables box ? and they will be the poorest quality we can find - deliberately.
NB: Wash up facilities will be provided and your Kitestock09 showbag will double as an excellent tea-towel & utensil storage carrier.
Looking forward to seeing you there, Your Kitestock Team.
