New kitesurfing guidelines for Scarborough, WA
New Guidelines for Kitesurfing at Scarborough beach, WA
(including beaches from City Beach to Trigg Beach)

Please be aware that Brighton and Contacio's Beaches (Scarborough) are Advanced Kitesurfing locations. They have strong currents, rips and dumping surf.
Please assist in approaching and informing other kiters who are not adhering to these guidelines.
1.Stay away from surf lifesaving flags; keep at least 50m upwind and downwind and stay at least 200m out to sea. Stay away from swimmers.
2.Stay away from the surf club area when Lifesavers are training, and on busy days when swimmers spill out from between the flags.
3.Don't launch and land on any grassed area, and don't walk up or down the path with your kite in the air.
4.Do not kitesurf between the groynes at City Beach and stay out of the surf club area at Floreat (marked by white buoys) when the flags are up.
5.City Beach only launch area is south of the groyne. Please ensure you are sufficiently upwind to safely clear the groyne and lifeguard tower.
6.Floreat only launch area is to the north of the surf club.
NB: Both the above launch locations have carparks, grassed areas and wide access to the beach for carryingkites. Keep clear of other beach users when setting up.
These guidelines are location specific and must be read in conjunction with the full WAKSA kitesurfing guidelines at www.waksa.com
