Kitesurfing Mauritius - Le Morne

Mauritius gets over 14 knots 80% of the days in June and with an average temperature between 16 and 30 degrees and water temperature of 25 degrees it makes for an awesome kitesurfing destination. Mauritius makes for a unique travel experience too. Being an isolated island off the coast of Madagascar it has African, French and English influences, a large Indian population, unique flora and fauna and very friendly people.

The most famous kitesurfing spot is at Le Morne, a large peninsula in the Southwest. The fringing reef has awesome left-handers coming off it as well as some right-handers into the channels that
provide easy access for boat support. Inside the reef is a large lagoon of flat water, perfect for freestyle kiting. There are a number of high-class resorts on the beach.

Mike Walker from Kitethrills went to Mauritiusin 2007 on a Globe Kites team rider trip. "It's probably the best place I ever kitesurfed. The wave is clean, big, predictable, fast and very fun. The wind is cross-offshore and boats have easy access for support. The people are very friendly and it's a popular holiday spot for European and South African pro kiters. There is a choice of flat,
shallow water in the lagoon or several incredible wave spots on the outer reef, notably: One Eye (fast hollow left) and Manoa (full slower left)."

Kitethrills is offering a unique opportunity to taste this world-class location with excellent local support to make the holiday fun, hassle free and very memorable.

Accommodation is arranged in 2 neighbouring houses in Le Morne. Boat support (with photo and video crew) will make sure no kites, boards or people will get lost. The conditions in Mauritius suit both advanced riders, especially the wave fanatics and beginners who can practice in the lagoon. We will have traditional Creole meals cooked for us and enjoy Mauritian culture at its best.

Cost: $3770. This includes flights (ex east coast capital cities subject to availability), accommodation, transfers (in Mauritius), vehicles, boat support, photo/video capture and production and of course kitesurfing. Price may vary when flight prices change. Excludes food,
alcohol, maid service, kite lessons and hire.

The trip will depart at Tuesday 15th June and returns Thursday July 1st.
