Kite Surf Pro kicks off tomorrow - without any Aussies!

The One Eye Pro - Arrr Me harties...
The all new KSP (Kite Surf Pro) begins tomorrow in Le Morne, Mauritius - and it's set to be a massive event, despite lacking any Australian entrants.

The Kite Surf Pro is the all new kitesurfing competition, designed and organised by ex and current kitesurfers and sanctioned by the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association). Held in three locations over the year (Mauritius, Peru and Cabo Verde) the event is supposed to exhibit the best riders in the best locations - but why are there no Aussies?

Unfortunately, our best rider Keahi De Aboitiz is currently in Bali with Reo Stevens - he was our best shot at the title after he won the PKRA wave events earlier in the year, and we've all seen his riding - you can't beat that! The entry conditions for the Kite Surf Pro were very strict, with competitors being basically hand picked for the event - but seriously, NO AUSSIES! Who are we supposed to select in our KSP Fantasy league?

Yep, you heard right - you can choose and bet on a kitesurfing fantasy team - and win some pretty awesome prizes along the way. For the first time ever, the KSP will be working in conjunction with Fantastar.com - and offering you the chance to select your kitesurfing dream team throughout the KSP tour.
It's not a bad idea, but only time will tell if it's going to catch on.

If you want to keep up with all the action over this week in Mauritius, don't book a plane ticket - simply log onto the KSP website and watch the live video feed, results and commentaries that will be broadcast throughout the event. It's a new concept for kitesurfing, and hopefully it will become the benchmark for future events. Check it out here - and have a look at the promo video below.
