Narrowneck Beach set the perfect backdrop on the Gold Coast last weekend for the Inaugral KITEjAM.

We had 38 registered competitors with many coming from the Sunshine Coast and Byron Bay, plus the locals in full support. 

Results:

The Mens OPEN FREESTYLE TITLE by Sean Hammill of  Paradise Point

The Masters 35+ WAVE TITLE  was won by Rob Sellars of Wellington Point Brisbane

The Womens by Michel Blinkhorn of Byron Bay

and Juniors by Luke Smith of Watanobbi NSW  (South of Newcastle) 

BIG AIR GURU went to our local Matt Curran who managed to get an
8'6" SUP up in the air higher than anyone has ever seen a SUP go! 

Perfect wind got the judges running around, and when there was no wind, we had the first ever Kiters SUP contest where our local Shop ‘SURF FX’  brought 10 SUP's to the beach, for an impromptu SUP JAM. This was quite a spectacle, as all kiters seem to make very good SUP riders and were  carving up the small waves right into the shoreline. First place went to F-One’s Nathan Katteras from the Sunshine Coast. 

The Saturday night party at the Southport Lifesavers Club, was attended by over 40 and everyone had a great time.

Next year’s 2013 KITEJAM is already being planned and is going to be even bigger, better,
crazier, with more prizes, and more surprises!
