It is official - kiteboarding is in the Olympics 2016! Surf Connect Wind & Kitesurfing School is now calling all interested parties to apply to the Surf Connect’s Juniors Development Program.

Surf Connect started a Juniors Identification program in 2011 and there are currently 12 juniors aged between 12 and 18 in the program. The participants were given free tuition, free training, and free use of gear. Most of these kids are now great ambassadors for our sport.

The new Surf Connect Juniors Development Program will focus on racing discipline, and will run in line with the same discipline in the forth-coming Olympics Kiteboarding, and also with Yachting Australia’s and Yachting Queensland’s training guidelines. Through this program, junior and youth kiteboarders will have access to training camps and regular regattas and have the potential to be identified as an up and coming racer and hopefully to qualify for the State’s Development Squad.

All interested parties aged between 12 and 18 can register your interest by emailing school@surfconnect.com. Training program will commence in July 2012 in Brisbane initially.
