JN Kites and Boards 2008

Please welcome the arrival of JN Kites into Australia, now looking for TEAM RIDERS and STOCKISTS.

JN have been around for four years and started out designing kites for Cabrinha and North.  The JN?s are experienced brains in the Kitesurf industry with very different talents and competences.  They are linked to their vision:  building good kite products with a soul.  Bernd Jochum has been successfully combining Management and Sport to winning concepts for years.  Now, he is finally doing it for its own brand.  Alex Schwab (Product Manager) is Snow-Kite world champion in the 2003 race and is counted among the top 3 Freestylers.  He wants his knowledge and experience in the scene to be delivered in a straight- forward way.  At JN this is possible.  Michael Nelser (Designer) built the majority of our world champ kites.  With the Debut-Kite of JN, the Wild Thing, he is touching new ground.  Successfully.  Christa Flora (Creative Director) is responsible for positioning the brand and the product in the market through classic advertising, PR and web.  And besides, she makes people feel the JN-philosophy - with passion.

Their latest offering is the Wild Thing 2.

The kite is based on a new hybrid construction (patent pending) which combines the advantages of a bow-kite (maximum power development and increased depower abilities) with the advantages with the best C-tube kites (direct steering and minimum usage of lines).  Depowering the Wild Thing 2nd generation Kite for the perfect performance is guaranteed by the high trimming speed.   Means, the profile, the centre of gravity and the structure are designed in a way, which allows the kite to fly very fast in the zenith but with less pull.  Powering the kite, the WT2 shows the same amazing pull the WT1 already had.  An optional bridle-system on the front tube will offer an easy handling to obtain the perfect speed you need for jumps and tricks.  With the set up bridles you have automatically a wider wind range, if the pull reaches a certain limit.  Besides the sizes 10, 13, 16 and 19,5, which cover the whole windrange, we offer additionally the sizes 6 and 8 in limited edition as uncompromising speed kites with a prototype design.  Our riders will use this kite to achieve world records in speed.

Characteristics/Features:

  • power development like bigger kites
  • notable long hangtime
  • manoeuvrable like small kites without bow-kite typical delay
  • outstanding lightwind abilities
  • easy to waterstart in lowest wind limit, when other bow-kites are already without chance maximised depower capability
  • ideal also for speed and race oriented kiter
  • adaptable to 4 or 5 liner bar
  • floating batten technology for reinforcement, stiffness and weight reduction
  • engineered flat tube, 3D round shape

 WIDE RANGE OF COLOURS AVAILABLE

JN are also offering two other designs for release in September, the DaVinci (Bow style kite) and the Prima Donna 2 which is their freestyle kite.

They also have a number of boards to offer.

The HONEY is a wakestyle board developed by our pro-riders, suited especially for all new school manoeuvres.  Assisted by its wide outline it starts planning very early even with a smaller kite.  Smooth and loose the board glides over the water.  Powerful landings and tricks to blind will be easy to perform.  But not only landing is important for wakestyling, the Honey comes with a good pop up when jumping off and allows the kiter even in unhooked position to slide through the wind gaps.  High jumps are amazing with this board.  We recommend this board for all ambitious riders, who like to ride a ?loose? board.  Developed by: Kristin Boese, Marc Ramseier, Mikael Blomwall, Andr? Natland

The FISH and OPIUM is their offering for the wave junkies and come in two sizes, 165cm or 186cm.

A dream becomes true when you ride the Small Fish in the waves.  Designed to perform best in medium size and big waves, this board should be used with footstraps.  It is good-natured and very manoeuvrable; you won?t feel it on your feet.  The superior upwind performance of the Small Fish propels you quickly into line up.  The light weight and the thrusters fin set up make carving waves, cut backs and bottom turns a big blast.  Only a surfer knows the feeling.
