How do you train a kiteboarding instructor?

This is how kite instructors are made...
It's not every day you get to see how baby kite instructors are made. But thanks to the new IKO examiner Chris Sal, we get to check out behind the scenes during an IKO ITC course.

This one happened last September up in Brisbane with the Kitepower guys. With students from as far as the UK, Germany, Perth and two blocks down the road, it was a great mix of experience and motivation for doing the course. To be a kite instructor takes patience, knowledge of the sport and patience. Oh yeah, and patience comes in handy. But that's what those guys learn about so when they come to teach YOU how to kite, they're paying attention and not wishing they were kitelooping themselves silly instead.

But if you've ever thought about getting qualified to be a kiteboarding instructor, check out the IKO courses being run in Australia this year, it's a heap of fun on the course and you even get to spend a few afternoons riding.

Or if you prefer to make the most of the windy days by kiting yourself, check out the video below to see what the poor guys are going to endure for the rest of their lives. It's pretty funny.
