Drifting with the Cabrinha Team - A free kitesurfing movie
Early last year, the Cabrinha team took their usual trip to capture footage for their 2012 range. This year was a little different however, when what the boys found was far beyond what they could have imagined.
You might remember some of the promo video's and trailers from the Cabrinha range which featured crystal clear water - an incredibly shallow reef and a fantastic underwater shot of Keahi De Aboitiz crashing over shallow reef. Well that was just a taster of what's in store throughout this extended cut, shot by Elliot Leboe.
The Marshal Islands pretty out of the way - in fact they're way out in the middle of the pacific ocean. Kind of directly in between Hawaii and Papua New Guinea. As he says in the video - one of Pete Cabrinha's favourite moment was getting the chance to mingle with the locals on one of the islands. He says:
"We just took a walk through the village and took a look at how everybody lives... It's just really mellow there. They do the things you do on a little island, play a lot of volleyball - fish, swim. It was really good to see."
The guy in charge of filming it all: Elliot Leboe is probably the most famous kitesurfing producer of all. Responsible for the classic films like Autofocus, he's got a unique style about his filming which suits the Cabrinha image very well. No doubt Pete Cabrinha and the team were stoked with the end result of their product shoot and this video. Here's Cabrinha describes the video:
"An extended edit of the Marshall Island's trip the Cabrinha crew hit for the annual photo shoot. The stars aligned to produce epic conditions in one of the most beautiful and remote places on earth. Just over 20 minutes long this video gives you a glimpse of life on the "Indies Trader" with ridiculous waves, crazy beautiful flat water sessions, and insane surf and SUP sessions when the wind died down."
