It's pun city, but when you stack up all the big names in the Best kiteboarding team, it's hard not to start throwing out the "b" word! Last week Gisela Pulido kinda spilt the beans on her facebook page, but nobody was willing to cry wolf. But today, Best made it official. 

Youri Zoon is now riding the Best GP for Best Kiteboarding, he's the latest in a gigantic list of "A list" kiteboarders who have jumped ship from their long served sponsors and joined what was once the 'cheap and cheerful' brand in kiteboarding. 

Go back to 2004 and take a look at Best kiteboarding. Cheap kites, 3 for 2 deals and online only sales.  How things have changed!  Best kites have been undergoing somewhat of a revolution in the past couple of years, and now hold a huge market share in the world of kiteboarding with one of the best reputations going around. 

But if the brands got such a good rep now, what's with all the spending on celebrity kiteboarders? According to both Best and Youri himself, the move was not only money driven, but based on getting professional riders to test and refine the kites each year. Only a world champion knows what a world champion likes right? Hopefully that experience translates into something that the average Joe can still handle...

"The offer BEST made me was one I could not refuse." Says Youri. "As a pro-rider I have to be able to pay my bills but more important than that was the chance to become heavily involved in developing a product which focuses on outstanding quality, is safe and reliable and has a lot of key innovations. Developing a good product is very important for me and BEST is very open to this, they have a great R&D team based here in Europe and I’m looking forward to working closely with Peter and Jordi. Riding alongside Gisela Pulido, the duo is sure to turn some heads at next years freestyle world tour. Although their results aren't guaranteed, you can be sure Best are pretty happy with their acquisitions, because the world wide kiteboarding community is absolutely buzzing with the news.
