Western Australian Kiters will recall that last season the Town of Cambridge introduced restrictions at the City Beach/Floreat groyne.

At that time, Cambridge indicated that the Council was reviewing whether kitesurfers could launch and kite at this spot, which of course had a serious impact on kiters doing the popular City Beach to Scarborough downwinder.

Western Australiak Kitesurfing Association (WAKSA) representatives met with Cambridge officials recently to discuss what their plans were for season 2011/12.

Just in time for season 2011/12, WAKSA are very happy to advise that Cambridge has overturned their previous restrictions at City Beach/Floreat and the location is 'back on' as a kite beach! 

WAKSA and the Town of Cambridge are finalising some appropriate signage which we hope will be in place in time for the start of the season.
