Broken Water Kitesurfing DVD Premier Night

Thursday night in Fremantle, and a mild night for the premier of Ryland Blakeney's new kitesurfing flick - Broken Water.

Ryland is a Perth Kitersurfer, and a surfer from a young age.  One of those kinds of surfers who's stoked to be out on the ocean, no matter what the conditions.

A couple of pre-movie drinks at SOS Surf just around the corner set the scene (and a full bladder) for the premier night.  In the cinema, an old movie shot by the same cameraman (Shannon Stent) was on display as the noisy crowd talked on.  These nights are great - not just a chance to see a kitesurfing movie on the big screen, but also a chance to catch up with crew you've not seen for a while.

Broken Water is an awesome movie, and everything I hoped for.

Wicked waves, waves that get the heart going, mega wipeouts, and heaps of awesome coastline.

Well received with a heap of applause, and yelling out during the  show.

A varied sounds track, ranging from cruisey acoustic tunes to rap over the big wave sections.

This movie is a perfect leadup to the summer season, a movie to get you charged up & going harder this year. Bringing back all those memories of summers solid reliable breezes, sunset kites, awesome waves & good times...

Here in WA, it's been such a miserable winter for kiting, you could almost forget what kitesurfing is all about.   But as soon as you seen those aqua waters, frothing ocean, and seabreeze spray, your eyes light up, your heart starts pumping and you feel your body wanting to move with the spectacular wave riding on display.

There was a great turnout of around 300+(?) kiters with the tiny FTI cinema overloaded, with crew sitting in the isles and standing at the rear....

The Broken Water DVD is available now in the Seabreeze Shop...
