Adam Koch signs with ASV Performance
Adam was one of the 1st professional kiters and a star of the early kiteboarding movies and magazines when Maui was the center of the world.
He also pursued an Olympic sailing campaign with Morgan Larson, a world-class sailor.
Then a few years ago Adam and his mates started to push Kiteboard Racing in the Bay in San Francisco and became 2010 Course Racing World Champion.
In the past 2 years Adam has been fighting for the top spot on the Kite Racing circuit becoming 2011 and 2012 Racing Vice World Champion behind his mate and training partner Johnny Heineken.
While it didn’t look like any of the top guys were even considering a change in equipment/brands, Adam Koch chose ASV because he thinks he can win World Titles with it and close the very tight gap with Heineken.
Adam said he tested several wings and in his my opinion the ASV got the best performance. In addition the team has a better program for future research.
The ASV team have been working hard in Baja/ Mexico with people like Paolo Rista to find the best set up for ASV.
The African Championships will reveal if the switch from Ozone to ASV will help Adam to fulfil his ambitions to win the North Amercian Championships, European Championships and the Worlds to move to the very top and become the #1 in Kiteboard Course Racing.
Rumours are that other prominent racers and shapers like Paolo Rista and Alex Aguera have also made the change to the Italian Race dedicated brand from South Italy.
Hopefully Adam and some other top racers will show in Australia for Sail Melbourne later this year.
