Velux 5 Oceans British solo sailor Chris Stanmore-Major (CSM) has set the 24-hour speed record for the current edition of the solo round the world yacht race onboard his Eco 60 yacht Spartan. The Velux 5 Oceans race committee has ratified that CSM's passage of 385.8 nautical miles in the 24 hours leading up to the 1800 UTC position report on May 16 is a record for the current edition of the 30,000-mile race.
