UK's Royal Yachting Association (RYA) changes tack on flares. In what could be a pointer for things to come world-wide in the use and carriage of flares as distress signals at sea, Britain's peaking boating organisation has revised its recommendations as it says more robust and technologically advanced alternatives have been developed.
