Transatlantic Race 2011 - Maxi Yachts make fantastic progress

Transatlantic Race 2011 started on Sunday 26 June. The race has three staggered race starts with the final race start on Sunday 3 July. The races begin at Castle Hill, Newport and finish at Lizard Point, UK. The Maxi Yachts that started on July 3 have been making fantastic progress. Little in the way of tactics have come into play thus far, as all six yachts in IRC Class One have been taking the direct route, coaxing every knot of speed out of their powerful machines.
