'Bendigo Yacht Club in action last season - and the water is higher this year'

Bendigo sailors had been searching for rain for the last few weeks, hoping that the water level would be high enough for a great summer season.
And it's good news.
When sails are unfurled today as central Victorian yachting enthusiasts launch Bendigo Yacht Club's 2009-10 season in Lake Eppalock, the water level is looking good.
Commodore Mick Floyd said although the water level in Eppalock was still low, the inflow from recent rain had brought the lake up to the best level since the start of the 2005 season.
"This is great news for the club and local sailors, and we are looking forward to a reasonable year's sailing," Mr Floyd said.
The club had also conducted a successful winter series of races over the past two months.
Guests will include Yachting Victoria board member Graeme Ritchie, Eppalock ward councillor Rod Campbell and representatives of Goulburn-Murray Water and Coliban Water.
Sailing lessons are held fortnightly on Saturday mornings. Anyone interested in learning to sail can contact Mick Floyd on 0409 414 777 or email
