The Mariner rally concept was born on this coast in 1998 and the route for 2012 will be the same; sail from Marmaris in an easterly direction along the coast to Finike and then by land to Antalya. The Atlas mountains rise to 3,000 meters adjacent to the coast, creating a spectacular back drop and lots of protected inlets. The people of this coast are especially welcoming to Aussies, with whom they feel an historical connection and the cuising has variety and flavor.
