Australia's largest provider of pleasure craft insurance, Club Marine and Smart1Marine.com.au are working together to help owners protect their berthed or moored boats. The Yacht Sentinel, with its inbuilt GPS, not only remotely tracks a user's boat, but can also alert the user to such emergencies as power failure, flooding or unauthorised entry. Club Marine has agreed to waive 50 per cent of the standard excess charge for its policy holders, who purchase a Yacht Sentinel and make a claim related to theft or power failure.
