The economic slowdown in the Western World may have produced an unexpected environmental benefit for the planet. According to leading yacht brokers YPI Group, 2010 saw sailing yacht sales almost double 2009's figures, and the trend is continuing. According to William Bishop, Head of YPI Sail, classic sailing yachts seem to be becoming more popular than their motor yacht rivals. Figures are suggesting that maybe owing to economic and environmental conditions people are making a move from motor to sail.
