At 0830hrs (CET/France) this morning (Tuesday) Dr. Jean-Yves Chauve, in collaboration with the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre Toulouse, considered that the health of Bertrand Quentin required his evacuation from Cote d'Or II. Quentin's extreme fatigue and nausea were considered to render him unable to operate his boat. In coordination with the MRCC and race director Jean Maurel, the skipper was asked to activate his distress beacon.
