Rio 2016 Olympic Games' emblem was unveiled on a packed Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janerio by IOC President Jacques Rogge, IOC Coordination Commisssion Chair for 2016 Nawal El Moutawakel, and Rio 2016 President Carlos Nuzman. The logo which was unveiled shortly before midnight on 31 December, marks the beginning of a new stage in Rio's journey to hosting the first Olympic Games in South America.
