'Peveril Ledge - not a good place to end up in a sailing boat'

There's no information as yet about why the 36ft yacht Summer Song ended up on the treacherous Peveril Ledge in the south east of Dorset, UK, this week, but if it hadn't been for the super swift action of the Royal National Lifesaving Institiution (RNLI), it could have been a different story. It was 'pretty much life and death', according to a spokesman. Two sailors were dramatically rescued after making a mayday call when Summer Song was blown onto rocks in pounding seas in the dark of the early morning. The yacht ran aground at Peveril Ledge, Swanage at 5.20am
