Rally yachts head for Bali

Fifteen yachts began their rally of a lifetime in the Visit Indonesia Fremantle to Bali event at noon today - fourteen of them from Fremantle and the fifteenth from Darwin - go figure! They were escorted for the first few miles by most of the yachts from the racing fleet, who have to wait until noon on Tuesday for their turn to start. The rally covers a course of 1440 nautical miles and in true rally style, yachts are permitted to make landfalls along the way.
