The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii has issued a Tsunami warning for the Pacific Ocean. The Tsunami wave could be higher than some low lying Pacific Islands. The warning follows a massive earthquake that has struck 120km off the north-eastern coast of Japan at a depth of 10km. At its epicentre this quake was 1000 times stronger than the recent Christchurch earthquake and is the strongest recorded earthquake in Japan.
