The Nova Scotia Schooner Association (NSSA) will celebrate its 50th year with a week of events from July 31 to August 7, 2011. Founded in 1961, the NSSA was formed to promote, and preserve the uniqueness of Nova Scotia Schooners by maintaining past and present records of schooners built in Nova Scotia and to organize annual race competitions and to further educate the public of the schooners unique and valuable part of Nova Scotia maritime history.
