Solo Valcour on Lake Champlain was born in 2008 by a group of sailing enthusiast. To our knowledge, it is the one and only sail race done solo on scenic Lake Champlain in upper state NY & VT. It is called Solo Valcour because essentially it circles the Valcour Island just south of Plattsburgh, NY. The race is approximately 12 miles long. Passengers are permitted as long as they do not partake in the sailing of the boat. They can assist until five minutes before the start. After that, your passengers must remain in the cockpit.
