'Brazilian SL16 Sailors Martin Lowy and Kim Andrade - ISAF Youth Worlds 2011'

ISAF Youth Worlds 2011 is being dominated by Brazil's Martin Lowy and Kim Andrade after they secured their sixth consecutive race win in the SL16 class.
The boys have a perfect score card after discarding the 15 points assigned following their retirement from the first race. With six points they have a huge 20 point advantage over Tomer Simhony and Ellie Louise Copeland (NZL).
Lowy said, 'This championship has been very good for us. We have had some good positions. The weather is very good.
'We are very happy, our speed has been very good. We are on the right track. It's been a pleasure.'
And Andrade added, 'It's perfect.'
HP Nicolaj Bjornholt Christiansen and Daniel Bjornholt Christiansen are tied with the New Zealanders on 26 points and with three days remaining the boys from Brazil look to be in command and en-route to the gold medal.
Spanish 29er pair Carlos Robles and Florian Trittel head into tomorrow's rest day with a nine point lead after another successful day on the water at the 41st ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Zadar, Croatia.
The pair came second and fourth today whilst Max Deckers and Annette Duetz (NED), who are second overall on 25 points, finished 4-6. Antoine Screve and Max Agnese (USA) finished 3-7 today and are third on 30 points.
Spanish helm Robles said, 'We hope to win the gold, the championship is still running so it is still very open with five races to go. We have already done half of the championship so there is still a lot to go.
'The conditions are lighter than we thought they would be. It's quite difficult and very shifty. The breeze is there and there but we have to be consistent through good and bad conditions.'
And Trittel added, 'The conditions are quite tough because it is really really light but I am enjoying it a lot here. I think it is a very good place, I am enjoying everything here. Everything is very organised and it is quite nice.'
Three races took place in the Laser Radial Girls fleet today and Paulina Czubachowska (POL) remains on top following a consistent card of 2-6-5 to sit on 25 points. Erika Reineke (USA) is second on 39 points and Nazli Hilal Karadeli (TUR) is third on 40 points. Ann Kristin Wedemayer (GER) claimed two bullets today to move up to fifth. The days other race win went the way of Japan's Manami Doi.

Maxime Mazard (FRA) regained his lead in the Laser Radial boys today. The Frenchman claimed a bullet in race seven and came third in race six to move onto 21 points. Israel's Oz Adam is 12 points behind in second place following his 4-11 today and overnight leader Giovanni Coccoluto (ITA) slipped to third after a less impressive day that saw him finish 10-15. Turkey's Alp Rona Rodopman claimed the days other bullet and is seventh on 68 points.
2010 ISAF Youth Worlds 420 Boys gold medallist Jordi Xammer, with new crew Alex Claville have taken the lead after going 2-4 today. They have opened up an 11 point gap over Daichi Mototsu and Yuki Hino (JPN) who won race four and came 11th in race five. Australia's Angus Galloway and Alexander Gough claimed the bullet in race five after finishing 19th in race four. They are third on 23 points.
Austria's Lara Vadlau and Tanja Frank retain their lead in the 420 Girls after finishing eighth in race four and second in race five to sit on 13 points at the top. But Athlete Participation Programme athletes Nikole Barnes and Agustina Barbuto (ISV) are hot on their heels following a 4-7 card today and with 17 points and three days of 420 racing to go it should be an interesting climax.
Morgan Kiss and Christina Lewis (USA) won race five today and discarded their 12th place finish in race four. They are third on 18 points. Israel's Laliv Tauber and Hadas Hoeshster won the days other race but are down in 11th place.
Due to a lack of wind only one race was possible in the Boys and Girls RS:X. And it was business as usual for Athlete Participation Programme Athlete Cho Wonwoo (KOR) as he recorded his third race win. He has a ten point lead over Pawel Tarnowski (POL) who came fourth today and is second on 15 points. Louis Giard (FRA) is third.

Naomi Cohen (ISR) won the only race in the RS:X Girls today and sits in third on 15 points. Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam (THA) came second today and remains second overall but Veronica Fanciulli retains her lead at the top of the leader board on eight points following her fourth place finish today.
Both RS:X fleets will sail a maximum of three races tomorrow as they look to catch up on their races. The rest of the fleets will enjoy a day of rest.
