'Seeking cleaner ’Greener’ oceans'

'What can I do to help anyway? - I am just one sailor.' A shrug of the shoulders and a turning away is the all-too-often response of well meaning leisure sailors who may be Green at heart.
Now two veteran sailors have launched a website to rally the good intentions of sailors and marine organisations world wide to make a real difference to the environment, together.
Denise Fox and Alais Serrini have created Ecoyachts to form a central source for the ever growing community of businesses offering environmental solutions for yachts, and promulgate them in one easy-to-access resource. Admittedly, their site seems somewhat centred on the world of the superyacht, but there's still lots of good information for any sailor who is Green at heart.
Denise is a veteran yacht captain with over 20 years in the yachting industry worldwide. Previous to her maritime career she was employed as an architect/construction manager of luxury homes and resorts with an emphasis on energy efficient design and solar power. With both maritime and energy conservation experience she has combined her expertise and commitment in these two industries with the creation of Ecoyachts.
Alain Serrini is a long term sailor and spent time as a Navy officer in the Italian Coastguard and became dedicated to environmental preservation. However it's his recent experience as a creative director in the advertising industry that has directed his passion and made his abilities greatly useful in the creation of the website's image online.
With lots of news, tips and general information about which parts of the sailing world are getting Greener, the pair want the website to be a facilitator between individuals and organisations.
They are also offering an ever growing e-commerce section to facilitate the sale of green products for yachts. Ecoyachts promises they will only promote or sell products and services that are either certified, proven to be an improvement upon older technologies with environmentally safe contributions or fall within regulatory environmental guidelines.
Ecoyachts has not forgotten about the top end either. With the increased focus on the environmental impact of yachting worldwide, luxury yacht owners, yacht crew and industry professionals around the world are discovering that they CAN help our planet without sacrificing style and comfort.
Ecoyachts welcomes information about environmentally friendly yachting solutions. So Ecoyachts are always interested in learning about new technologies, concepts, products, services and regulatory initiatives that support environmentally friendly yachting.
If you are a manufacturer or re-seller, service provider or association representative, Ecoyachts wants to know about you, and Ecoyachts' readers want to know about your products or services.
