Faulty anchor mooring in Trial Bay causes sailor's death

After his anchor mooring broke in the night, a cruising sailor tragically died last week while trying to free his stranded vessel Teco from the sands of Trial Bay at South West Rocks. Experienced sailor Hubert Notter, of Crookwell, suffered a heart attack and collapsed into the water after shovelling sand from underneath from his 7.3m yacht.
