Cape Breton Island's ninth-place finish in Race 12 of Clipper 09-10 means they are still in contention for a place on the final podium when the fleet returns to the Humber, UK, on 17 July. But, admits skipper, Jan Ridd, "It's an awful result." The disappointed team arrived in drenching rain at the end of the 2,080-mile race that started in glorious sunshine in Sydney harbour, Cape Breton Island just nine days ago.
