Day 4 in Nice
Just when you thought it couldn't get any lighter it did!
The day started well with an early start to take advantage of the morning drainage breeze. We raced in a dying 6-8 knot breeze but enough wind to be flying a hull at times. We won the first race of the day and then had some good solid results after that. The fleet returned to shore waiting for the afternoon sea breeze to establish and when we got back out at 2pm things were looking pretty grim.
The race committee attempted a race in what would have been 2-3 knots at best with the boats hardly moving. In terms of racing it was pretty crazy and in normal circumstances would never have been considered. But as they say 'the show must go on'. We managed a second place in what would be the last race of the day to move us up to 6th on the leader board. We have closed in on the next couple of boats in front of us so a good day tomorrow could see us move up a bit more particularly with the double points last race.
Forecast for tomorrow ...... light!!
