In the thrilling closing stages to Race 8 of Clipper 09-10 Cape Breton Island - Nova Scotia's Masterpiece has narrowly missed out on a podium slot, finishing in fifth place. The Canadian team crept over the finish line in very light winds at 1612 GMT. The race was won by Spirit of Australia. Cape Breton Island's skipper, Jan Ridd, says, "We were in Stealth Mode when we received the news of the shortened race and have spent every moment since working tirelessly getting the best out of the Big Blue Canoe.
