In a race which went right down to the wire, Cape Breton Island has arrived in New York, having narrowly missed out on line honours which were claimed by Uniquely Singapore. The south east Asian team has been in a nip and tuck race with the Canadian entry since departing Jamaica eight days ago on the tenth leg of the global series. Uniquely Singapore crossed the finish line at the site of Ambrose Lighthouse at 12:18 local time (16:18GMT) with Cape Breton Island crossing 52 minutes behind them at 13:10 (17:10GMT).
