America's Cup World Series: New European venue named for May 2012

Venice has apparently been also offered a second venue spot on the 2013 circuit on unspecified dates in April 2013, however the Louis Vuitton Cup is due to get underway in July 2013 in San Francisco, USA. The Venice regatta will take place on May 17-20 2012, with match and fleeting racing championships as well as the overall winner-take-all title. It is claimed that Venice will offer 'both great sailing conditions and proximity to the racing, allowing spectators to see the world's top sailors compete just off the shore.' The venue will include spectator access along numerous points on the waterfront, including the team bases in the Venetian Arsenal.
