The races are displayed on a giant screen in Valencia and hours before the start the best places were taken. Later as it was so cold we followed the action inside a local bar, with the America SA coverage team, who were not on the water for this historic race.

By now, you know what happen and the only thing we can add is that we heard that the stall at the start by Oracle was due to a malfunction in one of the winches.

During the first tack, the Swiss boat seemed to have a better speed during a spell of several minutes but it did not last and for all the rest, the speed difference was always in favor of Oracle.

The ultimate delta was influenced by the penalty turns being badly executed

Is there still hope for the Swiss team? Who knows, but the Swiss supporters will be out in force on Sunday to cheer on their team, who will not start as favourites in race 2.
