While there are some wonderful women cruisers out there sailing solo, collecting crew as they go or taking friends as crew, the vast majority of women cruising have followed their partner's dream, either gladly or tentatively.
Now there's a web site that is devoted to the special angles that interest the women who have become, or are becoming, cruising sailors.
It's called
Women and Cruising
, and was started by three women who have embraced the cruising life with passion.
They are:
Kathy Parsons
, who has lived on a sailing boat for 18 years and writes books about it,
Pam Wall
, who has already completed a circumnavigation and now teaches sailing, and
Gwen Hamlin
, who has captained her own charter boat and is a dive instructor.

A passion for cruising - .. .

Together they have produced a site which has struck a chord with women who are(or are becoming) cruising sailors.
Learn about others' life styles, why they love the sea, and what it takes to be a passionate cruising sailor.
There are lots of links, books, and downloads on topics that interest women who contemplate going cruising, including:
Communications, how other women have learned, learning to sail, kids aboard, the passion that many women share for the cruising life, and provisioning, just to name a few.
