14th Annual Strictly Sail Pacific Show April 15th to April 18th

Calling all boating enthusiasts - the 14th Annual Strictly Sail Pacific Show - the biggest boat show on the West Coast is taking place on Thursday, April 15th to to Sunday April 18th 2010 at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA.

There are many exciting draws to the show. As a show highlight, there will be luxury models like the Bruckmann 50, The Jeanneau 57, The Lagoon 400, plus several other models on display and for sale. In addition, More than 150 exhibitors from around the world will be showcasing the latest and greatest in sailing gear, accessories, equipment and services as well as world-class seminar series sponsored by Blue Water Sailing magazine, with more than 100 seminars running consecutively throughout the show. Topics range the gamut from sailing destinations to women's sailing, celestial navigation, cooking and fitness onboard, to mastering weather forecasting, cruising/voyaging, and a whole lot more.

For those looking to experience sailing firsthand should head straight to the Discover Sailing dock for a free 45-minute sail with an expert skipper aboard one of the latest boats from Catalina, Hunter and Beneteau. Other free sailing opportunities are available for kids making this a great family weekend activity as well, on the schooner Seaward, and for children with disabilities through the non-profit organization, Heart of Sailing. SeaLife Conservation is also offering daily sails aboard the 65-foot Derek M. Baylis, a research vessel that focuses on ocean conservation.

Just announced today, Genny Tullock, top ranked women's match racing skipper on the US Sailing Team Alphagraphics, Harvard Female Collegiate Sailor of the Year and three-time All American female skipper, will be in attendance and leading a seminar.

She engages sailors on the Racing Rules of Sailing and brings great explanations and visual aids to help you improve your own performance. Genny is a former member of the Morning Light team whose stellar career includes winning Key West Race Week as crew on the Melges 32 Star, leading Ragtime as a watch captain and helmsman to win overall in the '09 Tahiti Race, and winning their division in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race over the New Year. She is currently on a campaign for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
